Privacy Policy

SnapCaption is an Android and iOS app that turns one photo and a keyword into social captions and hashtags. Caption generation happens entirely on the user's device, and the operator runs no server.

In short: there is no account, no sign-in and no first-party server. The photo you choose never leaves your device and is never saved by the app. Google AdMob and the Google User Messaging Platform SDK may process advertising and device information, and Firebase Crashlytics processes the error information described below. No analytics SDK is used.

1. Information processed, and why

CategoryWhat is processedPurpose
PhotoOne photo you pick through the system photo pickerOn-screen preview. Used only on the device; never sent to an operator server and never written to the app's history
Keyword and choicesThe keyword you type (up to 12 characters) and the category, vibe and tone you selectCaption generation, performed on the device
Local recordsGeneration history, saved captions, recent keywords, language and display settings, rewarded creditsRevisiting your history and keeping your settings. Stored only in the app's storage on your device
Advertising informationDepending on platform, region, consent and settings: advertising identifiers, approximate region inferred from IP address, ad impressions and interactions, device, app, diagnostic and invalid-traffic-prevention informationGoogle AdMob ad delivery, measurement, frequency capping, security and fraud prevention
Error informationOn a crash or error: stack trace, device state, app version and an installation identifierDiagnosing and fixing faults via Firebase Crashlytics

The operator creates no account identifying you, and collects or stores none of the above on any operator server.

2. Photo handling and device permissions

3. On-device AI

On supported devices an optional on-device AI can refine the wording: Google ML Kit GenAI Prompt (Gemini Nano) on Android, and Apple's system on-device model on iOS.

4. Third-party services and international processing

SnapCaption uses the following Google LLC services:

Google and related processors may use servers in multiple countries; what is actually processed, where, and for how long varies with your platform, region, settings, consent state and the provider's own policies.

Crashlytics collects nothing until the consent flow has completed. A crash before that is kept on the device rather than transmitted. Your photo, the text of your keywords, and generated caption text are never sent to it.

5. Retention and deletion

6. Your choices and rights

7. Disclosure, sale and protection

The operator does not sell photos, keywords, generated results or personal information. Except where required by law, the operator does not voluntarily disclose information it holds to third parties. Third-party SDK processing follows the purposes above and each provider's policies, and the app is configured to use reasonable safeguards including platform permissions and encrypted SDK communication.

8. Children's privacy

SnapCaption is not designed for children under 14 as its primary audience and has no intent to knowingly collect personal information from children directly. If the operator becomes aware of such a case, it will take reasonable steps in line with applicable law and provider procedures.

9. Changes and contact

This policy may be revised as the service or applicable law changes; material changes will be announced on this page or in the app before they take effect. For privacy enquiries, write to gwangy.claw@gmail.com.
